Europe began Israeli goods boycott

On November 11, 2015 the European Union began to label products produced across the "Green line", i.e. in the territories of Judea, Samaria, the Golan Heights and Eastern Jerusalem. Goods supplied to European market will be labeled by a special sign.

Today Israeli people need special support because of constant terrorist attacks. Instead of this Brussels has decided that it's time to give a "special status" for a group of Israeli goods. It doesn’t look like the policy of good neighborliness.

However not all Europeans are ready to support the decision of the European Commission. For instance Hungary does not intend to label Israeli goods. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siyatro declared this. According to his words a special labeling of the products will not help to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Besides, the chair of European Parliament delegation for relations with Israel Fulvio Martushello expressly declared that the decision to label Israeli goods was a mistake. According to his words many European countries doubted the correctness of the decision.

Especially revealing is that at the same time Europe is not going to give up Israeli technology or weapons. They are not labeled, there are no special shelves for them, and they are not called to be boycotted. This is the policy of double standards in action, ladies and gentlemen!

Today the EU is the largest trading partner of Israel: annual export amount of Israeli goods is about 15.6 billion shekel. Almost half of them have being produced across the "Green Line". Israeli products proved to be of high quality and efficiency. Many of you know foods, cosmetics, clothing or appliances produced in Israel. «Made in Israel» is a sign of quality and reliability.

What will be the result of such EU decision? Whom will it help: Palestinians, Jews or European? It is quite expected that today the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs intends to draw up a list of retaliation measures as for the EU. However while politicians play economy, sanctions and ambiguous markings, only ordinary citizens lose.
