JERUSALEM A CAPITAL OF ISRAEL

UN GENESABLE UNDERTAKED TO NOT RECOGNIZE JERUSALEM A CAPITAL OF ISRAEL

The resolution was supported by all permanent members of the UN Security Council, except the United States.

"For" voted France, Great Britain, Germany, Russia.

Nine countries opposed, including Israel and the United States. Another 35, including Canada, Latvia and Australia, abstained. In total, 128 countries participated in the voting.

The representatives of Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova simply ignored the voting and did not appear on it.

The results of this voting did not become a surprise. The anti-Israeli resolutions in the UN are not a novelty, they are adopted systematically, with the more meaningless wording. This resolution is another nonsense that can not be taken seriously. But the theater of absurdity that takes place in the United Nations should be stopped long ago. I am grateful to all the countries that did not support this decision, and in particular to Ukraine.

Jerusalem will always be the capital of Israel, nothing will change it.

Ivan Kozlovsky

«My soul in Ukraine» - said Ivan Kozlovsky, a prominent Ukrainian opera and chamber singer. And it confirmed this in fact: he recorded Ukrainian songs, performed with the Ukrainian folk instrument orchestra, opened a music school in his native village, and each year invited the children-singers to visit. He was not afraid to sing songs that his soul sang, despite the fact that he could be punished for them, for example, for Shevchenko’s "I don’t care".. Today is the Day of Remembrance of Ivan Kozlovsky and we must honor his indestructible talent.

Ivan Kozlovsky was born on March 24th, 1900 in the Marianivka village. Ivan’s father was a tailor, he loved to play the accordion. The son also loved music - from birth was endowed with exceptional hearing and melodic voice. Therefore, at 8 years the boy was sent to Kyiv, where he began singing in the choir of Mikhailivskiy Zolotoverhiy Cathedral. They say that Mykola Lysenko heard him once and noted his exceptional talent.

Later he was interested in theater – when he was 15 years Ivan Kozlovsky participated in productions of the Society of Ukrainian actors as chanter. In 1917, the boy entered the Kiev’s Institute of Music and Drama. He made his debut in the theater Kozlovsky Sadowski - in the role of Andrew in the opera "Zaporozhets beyond the Dunai". In addition, Ivan sang in the choir of Alexander Kosice. Ivan’s brother Fedir together with the choir went on tour abroad, and Ivan himself did not go because he was drafted into the Red Army. The choir did not return to Ukraine, because Soviet power appeared at that time. The brothers saw each other in half a century, and because the brother did not return, Ivan was not allowed to go to tour abroad.

When the service in the army came to an end, Ivan’s voice came there again - now in Kharkov and Sverdlovsk Opera theatre and later - in USSR Bolshoy Theater. The first role for him was a small party of Fool in the opera "Boris Godunov." He made his hero from the secondary to a main character because of his voice and charisma. And now the actors around the world try to repeat his manner of representation of the image, because then he made a furor.

In 1920 Kozlovsky married the actress Alexandra Hertsyk. She perfectly played lyrical roles and was 14 years older than her lover. Their relationships ended also lyrically - after 14 years of marriage, Ivan left his wife for a young movie star - 20-year-old Galina Sergeeva. But their marriage eventually fell apart. Galina had several men and married last in her 76 years, but Kozlowski remained alone. And had many admirers and two faithful friends - secretary Nina and research assistant Olga.

In 1954 Ivan left the Bolshoy theatre, and continued to perform solo concerts. In 1970, to his anniversary Kozlovsky made a gift to himself - recorded the disc named "Ukrainian Christmas carols." But a significant part of this edition in the Ukrainian SSR was destroyed.

Ivan Kozlovsky died on December 24, 1993 of pneumonia in the Kremlin hospital. The last book he read was about Vasilkov town. Together, we have to remember that Ivan Kozlovsky - a remarkable man for Ukraine. Whatever the Russians would now assign his talent to the treasury of its history, Kozlovsky always stressed that he was - Ukrainian. This is not written in Russian biography of the singer, but we know that from the words of people close to him.

All his life Ivan Kozlovsky dreamed of spreading the Ukrainian folklore all folk songs and stories. He sincerely believed that by remembering the dead, we continue their lives. So let's combine these two things today, and turn on a Ukrainian song performed by Ivan Kozlovsky. Eternal memory to the prominent singer!

Vasyl Slipak

"Responsibility has increased at times. We have no right to be in depression. We must pull ourselves out at any cost. We have a unique chance and we have no moral right to lose it. We have no right to lose Ukraine! "- said the warrior, defender of Ukraine and well-known opera singer Vasyl Slipak. Today he should be 43 years old. But Vasyl, the callous "Myth", died in a battle on the Svitlodarsky arc on June 29, 2016 from a sniper's ball.

Vasyl was born on December 20, 1974 in Lviv. Guy has loved to sing since childhood. In the family, nobody related to music professionally - Vasyl's mother worked in the design bureau, father was a specialist in the production unit. But the grandfather, in honor of which the boy was called, had a unique voice, which passed on to the grandson.

At the age of six, Slipak's first performance took place - at the village wedding, Vasylko sang the song of the Marenichy trio "Silence around." Everyone was delighted. When the boy was 9 years old, his older brother Orest took him to the Lviv State Academic Choir "Dudaryk". There was formed the taste of the prominent Ukrainian opera singer. With “Dudarik”, Vasyl Slipak performed in the most prestigious concert halls of Ukraine and the world: from the National Opera of Ukraine to Carnegie Hall in New York. In the choir, Vasyl Spivak sang until 1994.

During his studies and after the end of the Lviv Conservatory, Slipak performed a lot and participated in various contests. In 1997, Vasyl successfully passed the selection for membership in the Parisian National Opera. His voice allowed him to begin a successful solo career in France and Europe. For almost twenty years Vasyl Slipak had lived abroad. Last concerts he gave on May 25-27, 2016, in the Temple of the Holy Trinity in Lyon, France.

Vasyl Slipak always had an active civic position. Immediately after gaining independence of Ukraine, he joined the "Faith and Light" movement, which was aimed to help people with special needs. Together with his brother Orest, he organized concerts in minors' colonies in order to morally support those who fell behind bars. During the events of the Revolution of Dignity, he could not come to Ukraine, because he had a contract with the Opera, but coordinated public actions in France aimed at supporting Ukraine, sent Ukrainians humanitarian aid, collected money, and organized charity concerts.

When the war started in Donbass, Vasyl created a charitable organization "Fraternité Ukrainienne / Ukrainian Brotherhood", helped Ukrainian defenders, and subsequently joined them. Slipak had been on the front for three times. For the first time he went on war in May 2014, fought at the Pisky near the Donetsk airport, participated in the battles for Avdeevka. In the war Vasyl Slipak took a callous "Myth" - in honor of the most beloved arias - the party of Mephistopheles in the opera of Charles Gounod "Faust."

For the second time Basil went to the front in September 2015, fought in the village of Vodyana near Mariupol, just on the line of collision. Subsequently, he returned to Paris. For the third and last time, Slipack returned to the Donbas on June 18, 2016 to deliver the collected help to the volunteer defenders. He planned to stay on the war for half a year. But after 11 days he died from a hostile ball, which was released by a sniper from a high-caliber rifle. Vasyl Slipak saved his brothers for the price of their own lives. At that time, Ukrainian troops repulsed an attack on a town of Lugansk and went on a counteroffensive.

On June 30, 2016, Vasyl Slipak was posthumously awarded with the Order "For Courage" of the 1st degree. He became the first Hero of Ukraine among volunteers. Theopera singer and warrior was buried on the Lion of the heroes of the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv.

Vasyl Slipak is a lighthouse of the Ukrainian nation. Through his spiritual light, he pointed to the whole path, the path of goodness, devotion, sacrifice, and patriotism. Although he was forcibly extinguished, Ukrainians should go further and not change the road.

Mykola Kulish

"Every one of us lives for ages, because we, above all, are ideas," wrote the prominent Ukrainian writer, playwright, director and public figure Mykola Kulish. Today we mark the 125th anniversary of his birth.

Mykola was born in Chaplynka (now Kherson region), in the hired family. The boy has been hired as well, he has been in work for 5 years. Soon Mother of Kulish died, his father married for a second time, began to drink. Nicholas lived in the shelter. He was very capable of studying, his teacher noticed it and decided to raise money in order to send the boy to study. He found 100 rubles, thanks to which Kulish went to Oleshkovsky College. There he began to write, but for that he was expelled - satirical verses by Nicholas did not please the leadership of the school.

Nicholas settled in the room in the family of the Nevells, felt in love with their daughter Tosya and subsequently married her. She gave him two wonderful children - the daughter Olga and the son Volodymyr.
Kulish, who was 22 years old, sent documents to the Odessa University to the Faculty of History and Philology. He was enrolled to the first year. However, the boy had to study at the Odessa School of ensigns, because the First World War began. Military service Mykola carried in Smolensk, hit the front. During the war he was injured, got contusion. Kulish returned home as a completely different person.
In 1925, together with his family, Mykola moved to the main cultural center - Kharkiv. There lived in the house for young criminals. Because of this, by the way, homelessness has also become one of the themes of his work.

In Kharkiv, Kulish met with the most famous Ukrainian writers, including Ostap Vyshnya Mykola Khvylovy, Arkady Lyubchenko. Yes, probably, the most important was the meeting with Les Kurbas. Together they created a new Ukrainian theater.

Their creative tandem was extraordinary, the knowledge of Kurbas and the intuitive feelings of Kulish allowed to create masterpieces. For example, the play "97".Everyone was impressed by their thoughts and ability to show their soul through the theater, to feel the images.
In addition, in Kharkiv Kulish was engaged in social activities, in 1926 he headed the literary organization VAPLITE (Free Academy of Proletarian Literature), edited its magazine. He was also the editor of the "Prolitfront" and "Literary Fair".
Mykola Kulish was extremely worried about the fate of his people: "Hundreds, thousands, and tens of thousands of Ukrainians swore at Shevchenko's image not to fold, until Ukraine is free to be restored," he wrote. On the man during the Holodomor of 1933, Antonina Kulish recalled: "I saw that hunger destroys my child (daughter Olga) and asked Mykola to get somewhere to buy some food. Nicholas answered me: "What is Olga ?! When all people, all of Ukraine are dying from starvation? "He did not think about me or about children. He forgot about himself, barely moving his legs: he was exhausted to the edge. "
At the same time, an ideological campaign was launched against Kulish, and the plays “People Malachi”, “Mina Mazaylo”, “Pathetic Sonata” were called hostile to the communist regime.

The last product of Kulish was "McLenna Grace." Socio-psychological drama narrated about the confrontation between man and society. Unfortunately, for Nikolay this confrontation was solved. On December 7, 1934, he was arrested and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with the confiscation of property. He was ill with tuberculosis under arrest. But he died not from it.
Together with Kurbas - his friend, he was shot on November 3, 1937 at the Sandarmokh tract.

"We want the nation not to clean our foreign boots. Time! It's time to become free! "- called the Ukrainians Kulish. So many decades have passed, and his words remain relevant for us.

HANUKKAH

HANUKKAH - THE LOVE OF THE WORLD, LIGHT AND GOOD

To share a part of miracle with children, we held the Hanukkah holiday at the Honorary Consulate of the State of Israel in the Western region of Ukraine, located in Lviv.

It is important for children to respect their traditions and teach history. Rabbi Siva Fainerman skillfully in game form told the kids about the miracle of Hanukkah and with them lit a third Hanukkah candle.

Holiday without surprises - is not a holiday! Therefore, the doll theater called the "Valley of fairy tales" performed with the play about eternal values - kindness, friendship, support and love for parents. And especially the kids were delighted when everyone was "immersed" into a huge so-called "home", during the show of bubbles.

Parents have to give a lot of their own forces in order to raise their child a decent, human-loving, honest and kind person. Holidays make it possible for us, in an easy and unobtrusive way, to lay the foundations for the development of the children.

For example, on Hanukkah, children traditionally are given some money. In Yiddish, this is called "Hanukkah Gelt" - Hanukkah money, in Hebrew - "Dmyh Hanukkah". With this money child can do what he wants - immediately buy something for himself or postpone for the future.

But there is one indisputable obligation - a part of the money should be paid on charity. So even the youngest children are taught to help those who need it. Because there are always people who do not have money for gifts and holidays.

Children are our future!

May your warmth and kindness live in your hearts!

Hag Hanukkah sameah!

Mykhailo Starytsky

"How I love you sadly
My people are nullified by poverty
Frustrated and darkness is overwhelmed
That has already forgotten how to respect itself
Having spent its former strength ...
How do I love your sad graves
Ukraine! How I love you! "

These strong words in 1878 were written by prominent Ukrainian writer, actor, director, theater and public-cultural activist Mykhailo Starytsky. He was born 177 years ago in the village of Klishchyntsi (now Cherkasy region).

Mykhailo Starytsky is the author of over 30 plays, including the drama «Bohdan Khmelnytsky», «Marusya Boguslavka», and others. In addition to the original plays, he reworked the works of other authors according to the stage rules. For example, “Christmas Night", "For Two Hares", "Limeryvna", and others. Thanks to Mykhailo Starytsky these works became extremely popular among the audience.

Mykhailo Starytsky was born in a gentry family. His father was a retired captain, and his mother came from an outstanding Lysenko family. When the boy was 8 years old, his Dad died. At age 12 he was left without a mother. The mother of Starytsky was brought up by mother’s brother Vitaliy, the father of composer Mykola Lysenko.

Mykhailo's life was associated with Mykola Lysenko. Together with him he was brought up, together they joined the Kharkov University, and with him in 1871 he began to work on the creation of the "Society of Ukrainian Stage Actors" in Kyiv. Mykhailo wrote folk songs, which later he gave tothe work of Nikolay Lysenko, he wrote a libretto to Lysenkov's operas ("Garkusha", "Chernomortsy", "Christmas night", "Taras Bulba", "Drowned").

In 1861, Starytsky returned to his native village to obtain a paternal estate. Then he first fell in love. On the evening parties, the villagers Stepanida struck him. He went to the girl's father to asked for a date, but she was betrothed. Staritsky devoted Stepanida the lines:

"The night is, Lord, lunar, clear, stellar, it is visible, even though you need to collect pines. Come here, my beloved, working hard, at least for a moment in the grove ... ".

These words Mykola Lysenko put on music, but this song started to be famous with the melody of Andriy Voloshchenko and Vasyl Ovchinnikov. Now it is generally considered popular.

The unlucky love of Starytsky was treated by sister of Mykola Lysenko, Sophia. She was only 14 years old when they got married. The couples had 5 children.

In 1882 Starytsky organized the first Ukrainian professional troupe along with Marko Kropyvnitsky. Ivan Marianenko, the prominent Ukrainian actor, recalled: "Having invested all his money in the business, he immediately set the work of the theater on a broad foot: he raised the acting rates to the level of Russian theaters, gathered a large orchestra and a choir, beautifully arranged the plays, invited the best decorators; New costumes and stamped beads were sewn."

The development of the Ukrainian theater was a matter of Mykhailo Starytsky’s life. He spent all his wealth and savings on it. The theater was the life of Starytsky. To put the first Ukrainian professional corps on a high level, he sold his own estate and a bakery... Starytsky was invited to the theater primarily as a patron, and he completely fulfilled his noble mission. Already in the elderly, a prominent theatrical figure has said: "I burst into the theater all my possessions, goodness and in my old age I remained a beggar..."

In 1895, Mykhailo Starytsky left the theatrical activity and was engaged only in literature. Mykhailo Starytsky died in Kyiv on April 27, 1904, buried at Baykovoye cemetery

Jerusalem

Yesterday the Organization of Islamic Cooperation recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.

In particular, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the international community to recognize the Palestinian state and proclaim Jerusalem the capital of this "occupied by Israel" country.

To say that it's a nonsense is not to say anything. Recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine is all the same as proclaiming Paris the center of Zimbabwe or the people of Kiev to "collect suitcases" and recognize the jurisdiction of Honduras.

Such decisions are no more than manipulation in their own interests. This is simply Erdogan's miserable attempt to hold the electorate to his side on the eve of the election.

For its long history Jerusalem was at least twice destroyed, many times captured and attacked. And it will survive this "attack". Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. It was so three millennia ago, and so it will always be

Nikolay Leontovich

140 years ago, the Ukrainian composer Nikolay Leontovich, the author of "Shchedryka" processing, who conquered the whole world under the title "Carol of the Bells", was born! In honor of the birthday of the great maestro, I will tell you a few facts about his life and the history of the legendary work.

1. Mykola Leontovych was born in the village of Monastirok, which is in Vinnitsa region. The boy's father was a village priest, but he knew how to play many instruments and taught his son to play cello, violin, guitar, poetry and balalaika. The mother of composer Maria Yosypivna was a woman of "unique spiritual and physical beauty," sang well, taught the son some folk songs. The boy did not only sing, but also conducted a peculiar chorus consisting of brothers and sisters.

2. Parents wanted Mykola to be a priest. After graduating from the Shargorod bourse he studied at the Kamyanets-Podilskyi Seminary. But Mykola still loved music, he started self-education. After graduating from the seminary, he worked as a teacher of a village school in Chukovo, where he organized a choir, an orchestra, and attracted students there. He bought instruments for his own money. With a monthly salary of 27 rubles, for each instrument he gave 25-40 rubles. Than Leontovych composed his "First collection of songs from Podillya" and worked on "The Second Collection of Songs from Podillya."

3. For several years, Leontovych has been a teacher of chants in the Donetsk region and Podillya. During the 1905 revolution, Leontovych organized a chorus of workers who sang at rallies. This attracted the attention of the police, because of which Leontovych was forced to leave.

4. A significant part of his life (Leontovych lived only 43 years), the composer put on work on "Shchedryk." The first author's edition appeared in 1901, the latter - 1919. For the first time, "Shchedryk" was performed by the choir of Kiev University in 1916, and in 1921 it was heard in the USA - the work was performed at Carnegie Hall in New York. The world famous "Carol of the bells" appeared in 1936. Then an American of Ukrainian origin, Peter Wilkhovsky, created the English version of words. Since then, the whole world has known the Ukrainian "Shchedryk" under the name "Carol of the Bells". You can hear the legendary song in modern films, including "Home alone", "Harry Potter", "The Hard Nut" and others. "Shchedryk" became an integral attribute of Christmas holidays.

5. The prominent Ukrainian composer was killed on the 23d of January, 1921, when he came to visit his father. For many years, this information was concealed, but now it is known that the killer of Leontovych was a Chekist Athanasius Gryshchenko, who asked to stay in his father’s house for a night. In the morning, he robbed the house and shot Mykola Leontovych. The text of the report revealing the name of the killer of the composer was made public only in the 1990s.

In addition to "Shchedryk", Leontovych made 150 wonderful works, among which such famous as "Dudaryk", "Pryala", "Kozak carry". Be sure to turn on one of them today to enjoy the immortal talent of the great Ukrainian composer!

Joyful holiday of light!

Friends! Today, with the first star, Hanukkah's holiday will begin!

Its story dates back to ancient times. Syrian king Antiochus IV in 167 BC condemned Judaism. The Torah became a forbidden book, following Jewish laws - a crime. Moreover, the two Jewish women and their babies, for whom they secretly made the circumcision, were executed. Because of this, a Jewish uprising broke out. The army was small, poorly equipped. However, it only took them three years to dislodge Antioch with his troops from their lands. After the control on Jerusalem was established by the army of Judah Maccabee, the Jews managed to restore the Second Jewish Temple.

On the day of his consecration it was necessary to light the menorah and maintain its fire. But there was no olive oil for the lamps, only one jug was left. And manufacturing of a sufficient number could take eight days. But the Jews still decided to light the candles. And they had burned on that oil for 8 days, instead of one. It was just a miracle! Therefore, the wise men decided that, starting from the 25th day of Kislev, within 8 days, the Jews would have days for joy and fun, they have to pray and read Galeel, and light candles.

The holiday was called Hanukkah, which means "a solemn opening, a sanctuary." This day, the worship was restored at the Temple of Jerusalem. Another explanation of the name - "Hanu" means rest, "kkah" - 25th day of the month kislev.

At Hanukkah family gather at the big family table and chic meal. People sing traditional songs and talk about the miracles God has made for ancestors. They eat donuts with jam, called sufganite and, imagine, derynu! But they are called "latkes". Kids are on vacation, so they love the holiday. According to tradition, the children are given a lot of toys and money, some of which they have to pay for charity.

Friends, there is a wise Jewish saying: "A little light is enough to dispel the great darkness." In this great holiday for the Jewish people, I urge you never to be disappointed and not destitute. Miracles are very close to us; we just need to believe, and they will come true.

Hag sameah! Joyful holiday of light!

Israeli Friends of Ukraine

"You exist at the expense of what you get. You live when you give, - Winston Churchill said. On Sunday, I had the honor to read a lecture to the people who really live - Ukrainian and Israeli volunteers. Day of Prosperity and Freedom

Friends, today Ukrainians celebrate the Day of Prosperity and Freedom!

On this day, we recall two important events that shook the newest history of Ukraine - the 2004 Orange Revolution and the 2013 Revolution of Dignity. The Day of Merit and Liberty became a kind of successor to the celebration of the Liberty Day celebrated in honor of the Orange Revolution from 2005 to 2011 on November 22, but was subsequently abolished by the decree of Viktor Yanukovych.

And, of course, on November 21, 2013, the first protest actions on Maidan began in response to the decision of the then authorities to end the course on European integration.

I think that you now remember the events of the Revolution of Dignity as if they were unfolding yesterday. The country was tired of the dominance of corruption, constant theft, the tyranny of law enforcement agencies, neglect of human rights and decided to say no, to fight for the future for themselves and their descendants. It took a little time and blood was spilled on peaceful rallies. Then the revolution became different, all-embracing, general one. Bloodshed has become a definite symbol of the government's desire to suppress those who have a different stance. Beating students, burning tires, gunpowder, Molotov cocktails, Berkut, snipers, shooting and "Heavenly hundred" - all these terrible things somehow symbolize the events of the Revolution of Dignity. One of the most tragic and most necessary events in the history of modern Ukraine. Three months of protests, 106 dead and more than 2,000 wounded - that's it, the terrible price that had to be paid.

This day should be crocheted forever in our memory in honor of those who gave their lives for changes in Ukraine. The Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity were the first impetus for us to never return to the past, to fight for the future – independent and free. The process of change is still ongoing. But despite the ups and downs, joy and disappointment, victories and losses, the process that started then must come to an end. Because we are responsible for the kind of state in which our descendants will live and we must make every effort, unite, and work for the benefit of our country.

I wish you all strength, courage, patience. Stay honest with yourself and your Motherland and never despair! The eternal memory for all those who perished in order for us to live better.

Talented author - Yevgeny Adamtsevich.

Did you hear the famous "Zaporozhian march"? When this melody was first heard in the hall of the Kyiv Opera House, nobody doubted - it's music of independence. Years passed, "Zaporozhian March" became a folk melody, and few people remember that it had a talented author - Yevgeny Adamtsevich.

Ukrainian musician was born on January 1, 1904 in the village of Solonitsa, Poltava region, in the family of a station officer. When Eugene was only two years old, he lost his sight due to illness. But it did not make the boy lose his thirst for life. Parents sent him to study at the Kiev school for the blind. There, Eugene learned to play bandura, violin and sopilka. He sang well - his baritone covered two octaves. Mussi Olexeienko, a bandura player, taught boy to play the hardest instrument.

Subsequently, the young man moved to live to his grandmother to Romny, a city that in the 1920s was a prominent regional cultural center. There was a drama theater, and a significant cell of kobzaws. Yevgen Adamtsevich joined the Mirgorod chamber of bandura players, had started to play on public from 1927.

An outstanding musician over the years experienced a lot of grief: the hard 30th years of extermination of kobza and bandurgery, persecution, poverty, repression and oppression. However, Adamtsevich had a strong spirit and never folded his hands.

The girl Lidia fell in love with such a strong, courageous and talented handsome man. A cute young woman threw everything, escaped from home,

just in order to be close to her beloved Eugene. Couple had three daughters, for whom Eugene had built a house near the railway in Romny.

Eugene earned money hardly, he sang on the Romanian market. The Soviet government interpreted this as begging, so talented musician was often persecuted. There were occasions than he, the blind man, was taken away from the city, thrown alone in the forest, sometimes got arrested.

The life of a kobzar was not easy after the Second World War, because he did not have a seniority, he did not earn a pension. Again and again he had to return to the playing on the bazaar. The material position of the family improved when the union of singers-kobza-players appeared. There they began to organize concerts and pay for them some money.

Now imagine: Kiev Opera House named after T.G. Shevchenko, concert of kobzars and lyre players. Young girls bring to the scene a blind bandurist Yevgen Adamsevich. A high and strong kobzar touches bandura strings, and timidly says: "Zaporozhian March". At first, the hall stopped, listening to an unknown for many melody, then people began to rise from the seats ... the hall burst into applause. This work immediately became something important for all Ukrainians. A melody of the spirit, which spoke from the heart of an unbroken man.

At nnight on January 13, 1972, the second mowing of the intellectuals took place. The Kobzar Association closed its activities. Adamtsevich and his wife moved to their daughter to the village of Kholmovka, Bakhchysaray district in the Crimea. There, Yevgeny Adamtsevich, died - 45 years ago, on November 19, 1972. He was 67.

This is sad, instructive, full of strength and faith, story of the outstanding Ukrainian bandurist Yevhen Adamstsevich. He lived a hard life, but he was able to urge Ukrainians not to give up and believe in a bright future. So let's follow his calls.

Friends!

Friends! Today is the day of memory of Vasyl Krichevsky, Ukrainian painter, architect and graphic artist. It is he who is the author of the Ukrainian state emblem, adopted by the Central Rada, the person who designed money and state signs UPR. Vasyl Krichevsky is a man who revived the art of decorating the Ukrainian books, which has been lost since the XVIII century. He was a talented architect and painter, a representative of "Ukrainian Impressionism".

Vasyl was born on January 12, 1873 in the village of Vorozhba (now - Sumy Region). He was the oldest of the 8 children of the burgher Grigor Krichevsky and his wife Praskovya. Vasyl Krichevsky studied in Kharkiv, at the railway and technical college. At the end of the study he assisted the city architect's assistant.

Krichevsky began his artistic activity in the late 1890s and devoted more than fifty years to artistic scientific and pedagogical work. He was a distinct landscape painter. Currently, a significant part of his works are abroad, most of them in the Ukrainian Museum of New York. In 2003, the granddaughter of Vasyl Krichevsky, Oksana de Linde, donated approximately 300 his works to Kharkiv, Poltava, Lebedin and Kiev as a gift to Ukrainian museums. In particular, up to 40 works are in the collection of the Kharkiv Art Museum. A unique collection of paintings by the artist is kept at the Museum of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Kyiv.

In 1903, his construction plan won the competition at the home of Poltava Zemstvo. It became an example of a new architectural style - Ukrainian Architectural Modern. Till 1908, Vasyl Krichevsky has participated in the management of the construction and design of this building. Krichevsky was involved to the construction of various interesting buildings, in particular, the home of the writers "Rolit", the Literary and Memorial Museum of Shevchenko on Taras’s Hill, the Profit House on the street. Streletskaya, 28 in Kiev and others.

In 1912-1913 Vasyl Krichevsky led carpentry workshops of Khanenko and ceramic school in Mirgorod. For the order of the famous patron of the millionaire Bohdan Khanenko, Vasyl Krichevsky made sketches of carpets on the themes of Ukrainian folk art. Olenivska studio wrapped those carpets for the Khanenko spouses.

Krichevsky was one of the organizers and the first rector of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts. For many years, Vasyl collected items of Ukrainian folk art. He was the author of the first textbook in Ukrainian folk art, which, unfortunately, did not manage to publish. The collection of Krichevsky, which was in the house of Mykhaylo Hrushevsky, was burned down during the artillery shelling by the Bolsheviks in 1918.

The time has come for the Ukrainian People's Republic. Vasyl Krichevsky was in good relationship with Mykhaylo Hrushevsky. It was he who was asked to make the first state seals. Then the task was to develop the coat of arms. Several ideas were discussed - "a sign of obscure meaning, something like trident" from the coins of Prince Vladimir, the crossbow - the old emblem of Kiev, and a Cossack with a musket, which was the coat of arms of the Hetmanate in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, the Galician Leo, and the Kiev Archistrateg Mikhail. Finally, Mala Rada approved the large and small state emblems, as well as the large and small stamps of the UPR. The trident sign of Volodymyr the Great emphasized the heredity of the new state from Kievan Rus. "This decoration is petty, not borrowed, it is connected with our millennial state political and cultural history", - noted Mykhaylo Hrushevsky. The stylized olive wreath that surrounded Tryzub in both coats of arms, executed by Krichevsky, symbolized the peace policy of the Ukrainian People's Republic.

Vasyl Krichevsky also directed the artistic part in the production of the great Ukrainian films "Taras Shevchenko", "Taras Treyaslo", "Borislav Laughs", "Zvenigora", "Nazar Stodolya" and the first Ukrainian color film "Sorochinsky Fair".

During the Second World War Vasyl Krichevsky with his wife and daughter moved to Lviv, where he was the rector of the Highest Fine Art Studio. In autumn 1943 Krichevsky family emigrated firstly to Czechoslovakia, then to Austria, Germany, France. In early 1948 they settled in Venezuela. Eminent artist and architect died on November 15, 1952, exactly 65 years ago in the city of Caracas. In 1975, Krichevsky was reburied at the Ukrainian cemetery of St. Andrew in Bowden Brook, New Jersey, USA.

Friends!

Friends! During my last visit to Israel, I met with the Speaker of the Knesset, Yuli-Yoel Edelstein. He prepared an unexpected gift for me – list of appreciation for the personal contribution to the warm and friendly relations of Ukraine and the State of Israel. I greatly respect Mr Edelstein, who was born in Chernivtsi, as a man and a politician. Therefore, I am extremely pleased that he noted my work.

Symbolically, a year ago I received another honorary diploma, this time - from the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubii. These awards for me are another proof that I need to continue the work that I give a significant portion of my strength, diligence and time. It is extremely important for me that Ukrainians and Jews live in harmony, peace and strong friendship. Historically, our two nations were always close. Similarly, our countries should support each other on the world stage, develop various bilateral projects, and open up new horizons of complicity. And also, we should deep the cooperation at all levels - both state and interpersonal.

I know that from year to year, relations between Ukraine and Israel are getting warmer. I am happy that I can make my contribution to it. And I promise, there will be many more interesting things to come.

Yossi Ginsberg

«I have lived through tremendous adventures and survived only because other people risked their lives for me. Realizing how interconnected and interdependent we all are, I am neither shy or embarrassed when it is time for me lean on another to ask for help. And when I have the opportunity to help another, I view it as my duty and privilege», - this is a famous expression of the Israeli traveler Yossi Ginsberg. Today in cinemas you can see the film "Jungle", which is based on the extraordinary history of this man who once got lost the Amazonian jungle. Yossi himself is played by the famous actor Daniel Radcliffe.

Yossi Ginsberg was born in 1959 in Tel Aviv. The boy's parents survived the Holocaust. Yossi lived as an ordinary Israeli youth - went to serve in the army at the age of 18. Yossi had a dream - to get acquainted with the French writer Henri Sharriier, whose autobiography ("Butterfly") he read when he served in the navy of Israel. Sharriere also served in the fleet (of France), but after a false accusation of murder, he was put into a jail near Guinea in South America. He had escaped for several times, but he was returned to prison. After his release, Henry lived in Venezuela. Yossi worked on several jobs to raise funds and go to South America. He wanted to ask Sharriier an advice on how to explore the Amazon jungle.

But when Ginsberg raised funds, Sharriere had already died. But Yossi still went for his dream. From Venezuela, the traveler reached Colombia, where he became friends with a teacher from Switzerland, Mark Stamm, and went with him to Bolivia, La Paz. There they met the geologist Karl Ruprechter, who agreed to lead the young men to the expedition, to seek gold. They were joined by an American photographer named Kevin Gale.

It was an adventure that Yossi had been waiting for. He was 21 years old and nothing could stop him before realizing his dream. But reality was cruel. First, 4 brave conquerors of the jungle left without food. They were forced to eat fruits and ... monkeys. Teacher Stamm refused to eat it and he was abandoned. Another unpleasant discovery waited for the men: the geologist Ruprechter was not a geologist, but an Austrian criminal, the last chance for a "happy life" of which was the gold that the group was looking for. This news has sown discord in the team. Photographer Kevin Gale and Yossi decided to build a raft and return to La Paz along the rivers. "Geologist" could not swim, so he took over the withered teacher, and they went their own route. The group agreed to meet in La Paz for Christmas.

But the guys lost control of the raft and flew into the waterfall on it. The photographer managed to escape and go ashore, but Yossi was less fortunate - he was borne by the current. Fortunately, the young man was not seriously injured. For several days he was looking for a friend, but he could not find Kevin.

Ginsberg was left alone in a terrible jungle and all the kinds of torments that it could prepare for a man. His body was bitten by huge red ants, mosquitoes. Several times, Yossi was almost eaten by predators. Twice he had to get out of the swamp. The young man fell into a flood in which he barely survived. So more than two weeks passed. In the last 5 days, Yossi did not eat anything, he suffered from hallucinations. And suddenly - he heard the engine. Ginsberg thought it was another ghost, but it was the aboriginal search group that had been looking for him for several days. It turned out that photographer Kevin Gale survived. A few days later, the aborigines found him, and he told them about Yossi. They found an Israeli traveler when there was no chance for his salvation.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to find two other members of the team - the "geologist" Karl Ruprechter and the teacher Mark Stemm.

After the rescue, Yossi was treated for three months in a hospital. He fully recovered, joined the Tel Aviv University at the Faculty of Jewish Philosophy and Business Administration.

If you think it was Ginsberg's last trip to Amazonia, you are very wrong. He returned there again in 10 years. Yossi helped residents of the San Jose-Uchupiamons settlement get a grant of $ 1.25 million in the Inter-American Development Bank for the construction of solar cells in the jungle. Ginsberg lived in the settlement for 3 years - from 1992 to 1995, helped to reduce the Chalalan eco-house in the Bolivian national park of Madidi. He did many other useful things, for example, he defended the intellectual property of the indigenous peoples of the region.

In 1995, the International Center for Drug Abuse Research and Treatment (CITA) invited Yossi to the position of Vice President of Development. Ginsberg created 12 treatment centers from opium addiction around the world, from Mexico to China. In 2009 he left the post and opened his own treatment center of the same profile in Australia.

Subsequently, Yossi returned to Israel and founded a design company. In 2013 he became one of the co-founders of the start-up "Headbox", now he works as general manager at Blinq.com, a company based in Silicon Valley

Yossi Ginsberg is a man who is called one of the most motivating personalities of our time. It embodies the fact that faith, fortitude, moral strength and selfless labor can help you to stand up despite what you have gone through. Never give up - in either extraordinary or ordinary situations.

"Peace to your home!"

Friends! Once again I sincerely thank all of you, who came to yesterday's movie show. I was very pleased to see you personally, hear your words of support and see smiles.

I'm sorry, if someone felt uncomfortable - over 350 people came, and it was a surprise. We quickly resolved this issue and hope that everyone could watch the movie in a comfortable atmosphere.

The move "Peace to your home!" by Vladimir Lert exceeded all of mine, and I think yours, hopes. The film touched the soul itself, held the viewer through a difficult path between tragedy and comedy. Many of us even cried and sincerely confessed about it after a session. I'm happy you liked it. I am very glad that this evening will leave good memories.

See you soon, friends!

boarding school "Manof"

How to help the "hard" child to adapt in the society? The answer to this question is sought in every country. Especially when it is about those children, who live in boarding schools. Especially when they have already had a criminal record, and for many it's a signal that there is no way back from a slippery path.

But this is not truth. In the Israeli boarding school "Manof" they found an interesting approach to help the children. The name of the boarding school means a "crane" and it really raises youth from the bottom.

The stories of teenagers entering the orphanage are similar. Basically, their parents are repatriates, who have recently moved to the country, began to look for a job and because of the that stopped paying attention to the child. And he, left alone, tried to look for friends on the street. But most often, there he could find only troubles. In Israel there are strict laws - a serious fight on the street can lead to a criminal conviction and conditional sentence. For minors it is often replaced by learning in a specialized boarding school, at the end of which the criminal record can be lifted if the teenager behaved well. But how to make a tomboy, who has a grudge against society and adults, to look at the world differently?

It's possible. And, imagine, after training in "Manof" some of the students go to serve in the police. How did this happen?

It's simple. The boarding school introduced a separate subject - cynology. How did it appear in this school? Once there was a student, an immigrant from Argentina Ariel Bar-Maimon. He was one of the most difficult guys even for this school. He ran away several times from the orphanage but was returned. Once Ariel, who did not give a damn about all the rules, brought a puppy with him. And a miracle happened - from a tomboy the guy turned into a good owner, who loved his dog and cared about it. Ariel graduated from the orphanage, but in 2002 he died in a terrorist attack. A few years later his mother died. All the money the woman bequeathed to "Manof", to build a dog nursery there.

The curator of the cynological special project in the boarding school is the legendary cynologist Arkady Shulman. He teaches teenagers how to train four-legged fighters. And, finally, after the dog training is over, the dogs are taken to the police or army, and the former robbers often follow them. They become professional dog handlers. The worst punishment for boarding students is when they are removed from the lessons with dogs. Children sincerely wait and love them, because four-legged friends give them love, do not judge, but truly understand.

Of course, in addition to cynological lessons in this boarding school there is another heap of necessary form factors for the adaptation of adolescents. Good food, clean territory, the building itself is a former palace with fountains and pools. In addition, the children are actively working, the run real economy: take care of sheep, goats, and a garden with a garden.

So, it turned out that it was not so difficult to answer the question of how to help children, who, because of the difficult nature, were refused by everyone. All you need is just to forget about reading boring lectures or punishing them. It is worthwhile to engage teenagers in that they are interested. Director of "Manof" Zaava Atraczi says: "There is a golden rule:" There is no bad child - it happens that the child feels bad. " No one is born with complexes, they appear throughout life. " I believe, most importantly - if the child is confused, you should always put your shoulder to him.

Peter Jacyk

"If I’ll do the right thing, nobody would remember it, but if I’ll do wrong, then nobody would forget it". It is the favorite quote of a prominent Canadian entrepreneur of Ukrainian descent, patron and philanthropist, known for his significant contribution to the financing of Ukrainian studies in the West and in Ukraine Peter Jacyk. Today, on the day of his memory, I would like to remind everyone that he was a brilliant man.

Petr Jacyk was born on the 7th of July, 1921 in the village Verkhnye Sinowidne, Skolyshchyna.

The boy's father - Dmitry - was a wealthy peasant, and Peter was the firstborn in the family. The boy soon became half-willed: his father died when he was only 14 years old. Peter became a senior and took care about mother, two sisters and four brothers. Despite this, he gave much effort to education - he graduated from a village school, studied on agricultural and railway courses. After graduating, he worked as an assistant engineer. During the war he cooperated with the Ukrainian partisans.

In 1944, Petr Jacyk lived in Germany. There he graduated from the Ukrainian Technical and Economic Institute in Regensburg, became the economist. Later, Jacyk moved to Canada. With $ 7 in his pocket, without friends, ties and assistance, he surprisingly quickly founded his own construction company Prombank Investment Limited (P. Jacyk Group). He was a businessman-phenomenon who became a multimillionaire due to his intelligence, abilities and talents.

Rich man, who could spend money on standard things for such people - yachts, planes, cars, acted quite differently. Peter Jacyk was a sincere, modest, kind and devoted man. He always remembered his roots and supported Ukraine wherever he was. Yevhen Chykalenko said about Jacyk that he: "loved Ukraine not only to the depths of the soul, but to the depths of his own pockets".

First donation of $ 1,000 was made by Petro Jacyk in the early 60's, and the last - shortly before his death. He spent millions of dollars on the popularization of the Ukrainian culture on the world.

Petro Jacyk was one of the sponsors of the Institute of Ukrainian Studies at Harvard University (USA), the Encyclopedia of Ukrainian Studies, the Center for the Study of the History of Ukraine at the University of Alberta (Canada), Educational Foundation named after. Petr Jacyk (its fund amounts to $ 4 million), a Ukrainian lecture at the School of Slavic Studies and East European Studies at the University of London, a documentation center at the library named after. John P. Roberts at Toronto University, Jacyk Foundation at the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (CIUS) in Edmonton.

Jacyk helped to open the Ukrainian Department of Medicine at the Institute of Harriman at Columbia University, gave for these 750 thousand dollars. A lot of scientific monographs on the history of Ukraine (for example, the translation of the History of Ukraine-Rus by Mykhaylo Hrushevsky into English), economics, political science, medicine, and ethnography were published with his help. The amount of his donations to Ukrainian institutions in the western world exceeds $ 16 million.

In addition, Petro Jacyk helped Ukrainian students to enter universities in Europe, the United States and Canada. And yet - he founded the internationally known Ukrainian language contest, the number of participants of which in recent years reached 5 million people from more than 20 countries of the world.

If you want to learn more about this extraordinary man, you should read the book by Mykhailo Slazobshpitsky "A Ukrainian who refused to be poor".

Petro Jacyk wished Ukraine prosperity. He spent a lot of money to consolidate the image of Ukraine in the world and it would seem he could help anyone who deserved it. His sincere soul, unimaginable deeds and sacrifices are what we all must remember. Eternal memory.

Friends!

Friends! The first Israeli moonlight will go to the Moon. In Israel, at the aircraft industry, they have already started to collect the skeleton of the newest spacecraft in the form of a cone.

The non-profit organization SpaceIL will play a major role in the development of the moonlight. Three engineers - Yar Bash, Kfir Damari, and Jonathan Weintraub created it in 2011 with the sole aim of sending a space ship from Israel to the Moon. The company has already entered the final of the international competition "Google Lunar X PRIZE", where five teams from the leading countries compete. Now their moonlight has to become the first to sit on the satellite, walk along the surface of at least 500 meters and send a photo to Earth from there. If the Israeli spacecraft wins, the company will receive $ 20 million for further development.

The spacecraft was named "Integration". It has already installed 8 engines. Soon tests will take place, and in the end of 2017 - in 2018 they plan to launch a moonlight in space.

But the main thing for the founders of SpaceIL is not a victory and not even participation. The main goal is educational. Young people should get acquainted with the initiatives to explore space, they must inspire them, and due to this – the will become interested in science, studying mathematics and engineering art in depth. What, if not a living example of achievements can awaken the boom of curiosity?

Friends

Friends! Today, Sergey Loznitsya celebrates his birthday. He is a well-known Ukrainian director of documentary and feature films, among which are such famous as "Maidan", "In the Fog", "My Happiness" and "Soft".

Sergiy was born on September 5, 1964 in the city of Baranovichi in Belarus. But later he moved to Kiev. There he graduated from high school and entered the Kiev Polytechnic in 1981. There he studied applied mathematics, became an engineer-mathematician. After graduation, Loznytsia worked at the Institute of Cybernetics on problems of artificial intelligence, was fond of photography. But at the age of 27 he decided to change everything and tried himself in the cinema. In 1991-1997 Sergey studied at VGIK in the department of directing the play cinema (workshop of Nani Gioradze), graduated with honors.

A few years after completing his studies, Loznytsia moved with his family to Germany. For many years, he filmed documentaries, then went to the game. The first Ukrainian film nominated for the Cannes festival was "My Happiness" by Loznitsya. Films of the famous director have received numerous awards at festivals in different parts of the world.

A special for all was Sergey's film "Maidan". Which, without a single word, carries everyone into the atmosphere of those extremely important events. The film is striking. Especially strong is final, in it the audience is not shown the euphoria of victory. There is silence, pain and candles. Woe to the loss of people who have been fighting side by side for the future of the nation.

When in an interview Sergey was asked if there has been a risk that the Ukrainian revolution will deceive people's expectations, he replied: "The path to a thousand le begins with the first step. The revolution must take place in the minds of most people; what happened on the Maidan, told us: this process has already started. People are ready to make their own decisions, take responsibility for themselves. Compared with Russia, this is done not by the separate leaders of the opposition, but by thousands of people who are thoughtful, wise, responsible. Any authority will have to take into consideration of such citizens. "

From my heart, I congratulate Sergey on his birthday! I wish him inspiration, new wonderful films, strengths and personal happiness. Thank you for the creativity and immeasurable atmosphere that is presented in his wonderful films.

Friends!

Friends! August 4 is the day of memory of Zeev Jabotinsky. He is a journalist and politician, one of the symbols of the formation of Israel, a man who foresaw the independence of Ukraine. He has long insisted on the principles that Ukrainians and Jews should not quarrel, but act as a whole.

Zeev, or then Vladimir - was born in Odessa on October 18, 1880. One of the greatest shocks in Jabotinsky's life was the bloody pogroms swept by the Russian Empire at the early twentieth century. Then he decided at any cost to fight anti-Semitism, and put more effort into the revival of the Jewish state. He began to study his native language, broke off ties with his former environment, and soon left the general press.

Jabotinsky, as nobody knew and understood, what was true nationalism. He knew what he was prepared to do to create a Jewish state and therefore supported those who dreamed abouttheir own state. Even then, in the Russian Empire, he appealed to the Jews to support local national movements, and especially Ukrainians. Because they are strong allies in the fight against a common enemy. Jabotinsky said: "I, a nationalist, will not recognize myself as a citizen of the second class in Russia at a great price. I consider myself basically the same master in this state as a Russian; I demand that the state adapt to my national requirements precisely as it should adapt to the demands of Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, Tatars, etc. "

Zeev was a highly educated man, but his mind, knowledge and faith made him a visionary. For it was he who was the only publicist who foresaw the creation of Ukrainian and Jewish powers when it seemed something impossible.

Jabotinsky did everything possible to counter pogroms in Ukraine in 1917-1920. He was the initiator of the creation of Jewish armed formations to protect against pogroms. But this decision was rejected by the Central Rada.

"When I die, you can write on my grave:" This is the man who signed an agreement with Petliura, "said Jabotinsky. The agreement included the creation of Jewish armed self-defense units as part of the Army of the Ukrainian People's Republic. By signing the agreement, Jabotinsky hoped that the troops of the Directorate would strongly suppress any attempts at pogroms in their occupied territories. He said: "... neither Petliura, nor Vynnichenko, nor the rest of the prominent members of this Ukrainian government have ever been called" pogromers ". Although I did not personally know them, yet I am well aware of this type of Ukrainian nationalistic intellectual with socialist views. I grew up with them, and I was fighting with them against anti-Semites and Russifiers - Jewish and Ukrainian. Neither me nor the rest of the thinking Zionists of Southern Russia convinced that people of this type could be considered anti-Semites. "

During the First World, Jabotinsky fought as part of the British Army's own Jewish Legion. After the war, he created Jewish self-defense in Jerusalem, which became the nucleus of the Israeli armed forces. In 1920, self-defense resisted the Arab extremists who tried to arrange a pogrom. The British authorities accused Jabotinsky of having sentenced him to 15 years' imprisonment. But the world community was protesting, and it was soon released.

Unfortunately, Jabotinsky did not have time to see with his own eyes the things that he predicted - neither the independent State of Israel nor Ukraine. He died on August 4, 1940 in New York, and ordered to bury himself in Jerusalem. But many years itd id not happen. Political opponents did everything to prevent the testament to be fulfilled.

Finally, in 1964, Jabotinsky was reburied on Mount Herzl.

Jabotinsky was a true nationalist, one of the symbols of Israel, a wise and sincere man. He was never afraid of being a white crow and taking decisions for which he even condemned the Jews himself. But in the end, he left an outstanding track in the state of Israel, in his formation and in the fact that this fantastic idea once happened. He left a lesson for Ukrainians - if you see something with which you can not tolerate, do not sit idly by, but act.

Friends!

Friends! Today is the day of memory of the outstanding Ukrainian opera and chamber singer Boris Hmyrya.

Boris Hmyrya was born on August 5, 1903 in Lebedyne in Sumy Region. Father Roman was a stoneman, mother of Anna - a sword. Family was so poor that even the bread was split by thread. At the age of 11, Boris graduated from school and immediately went to work. He was a courier in court, a stoker, a sailor, and a loader. Because of that injured his back.

In 1930, when Hmyria was 27 years old, he eventually continued education - entered the Kharkiv Engineering and Construction Institute. These were very difficult years. The lack of money, constant fatigue and the worst thing - the Holodomor on Ukrainian lands. Because of it died- his father and sister, and his mother was saved by the boy. And in such conditions of life he still found strength .. at singing.

His voice was extraordinary. A gift of superior forces. On the fourth year at Boris Student's concert, they were invited to study at the Conservatory. At the same time, the Institute of Hmyria did not abandon - graduated with honors in 1935, a year later he was a postgraduate student. And at the same time - one more exception - he, still a student, was invited to work at the Kharkiv Opera House.

After graduating from the conservatory, Hmyrya became the winner of the All-Union vocal competition. Then he got the second place, and the first one was not taken by anyone. After that, the Bolshoi Theater, the Leningrad and Minsk opera at the same time invited Hmyria on incredibly advantageous terms, but then he began to work in Kyiv and refused to leave the city.

In the Kiev Opera and Ballet Theater, Boris Romanovich worked from 1939 to 1957 with a break. Almost a year - in Kamyanets-Podilsky.

In June 1941 Boris Hmyrya left for summer vacation in Crimea. Friends sent him a message - in Kiev came German troops, should not return. Therefore, Hmyria left for Kharkiv. There, he tore his back when he carried his heavy suitcases and got to the hospital. When he was treated, the city also included German troops.

Despite this, he was not banned from singing. On the contrary, there is a legend that the Ukrainian singer had to sing to the Hitler. He learned the aria from Wagner's opera, which nobody else has ever performed in the world, and had to sing it. But the plan was different - the Soviet government was about to throw a bomb to the theater just during the concert of Hmyria. But it happened that Hitler was not there, and the bomb did not explode, only the ceiling cracked itself.

The first wife of Boris Hmyria, Anna Ivanovna, grew severely ill and died in 1950. His second love he met at the vacation- a woman named Vira was a physiologist, her husband was missing during the war. They lived calmly and peacefully - he loved how a girl cooked, she - maintained the warmth and warmth in the house.

His voice was loved by thousands of listeners. The Soviet authorities did not let the singer perform abroad, despite the fact that there were mass applications for the performances of Hmira appeared in concerts and opera parties from the USA, Canada, Italy, England, and Holland. The answer was one: "Singer is sick." But they were allowed to work quietly at home - the singer was constantly harassed, instead of basso parties he was charged with performing parties for baritone and tenor. In the end, he was forced to leave the Kiev Opera House altogether.

But before Boris Romanovich did not speak, he always performed Ukrainian folk songs and works on poems of Kobzar. So one of the audience told: "I was at a concert in Leningrad, where Hmyrya performed works by Taras Grigorovich. At some point, it turns out not leading, but Boris Romanovich himself, with his soft, velvet voice, announces "My Thoughts, My Thoughts" with a commentary: "This verse Taras Shevchenko wrote here in St. Petersburg in 1839. In it, he with extraordinary power expressed his love and torturers for his native Ukraine, and his hopelessness to visit his native places again. "

And then this grief and hopelessness was pouring so that the cry was crying, and I will never forget this performance of Hmyria. Then I bought a disc and listened to him constantly "Dumas" to Shevchenko. So, Shevchenko did not perform any more, but he will hardly ever perform. "

Boris Hmyrya dreamed of the Ukrainian variants of F. Schubert's "Winter Road", all works on P. Tchaikovsky's music. On this occasion, appealing to well-known Ukrainian poets V. Sosyury, O. Novitsky, I. Pukchka, but all their translations were rejected, and to realize the planned time wasted time - he suddenly died.

Boris Hmyrya died on August 1, 1969. The prominent Ukrainian is buried on Baykovoye cemetery in Kiev.

Friends! Boris Hmyria was not just a talented singer, he was a genius of a song. Unfortunately, in Ukraine his name is not mentioned as often as it should be. So be sure to listen to his masterpieces today or tell the story of life to your friends.
