Friends!

Today the world celebrates the International Day of the Blind. Unfortunately, now blind life ot the blind people in Ukraine is not easy. There are not decent sufficient number of jobs, proper support. And usually when the world is against you, man reveals the most.

On this occasion, I will tell you the story of Abraham Nemeth. He was born in the Jewish family in New York and has been blind since childhood. And parents were not afraid, they decided that the visually impaired - is not a sentence, so began to fully develop the baby. The guy loved figures and taught them by groping, touching them, particularly on the mailboxes. Mother let him to shopping alone - he had to cope with this burden, find a store and bring the necessary purchases home.

In the Hebrew school for the blind, he learned to read and write by Braille, also started playing the piano. Because Abraham always learned something new, his memory was so good that he could perform mathematical operations without the use of additional tools.

He could not study mathematics, because it seemed that a person with low vision can never prove theorems and solve endless problems. So he learned a psychologist and played the piano in bars - this way he earnined money for living.

But he did not leave his dreams. He freely attended favorite subjects at Columbia University. After the Second World War, he even taught mathematics to its veterans. Then Abraham decided to improve the braille code in a way that it could help to work withmathematical symbols and formulas. To the history this innovation came as "Nemeth Code." Now it is used around the world. And Abraham Nemeth improved it to the last day of his life.

Friends! This example shows that most blind people need support and understanding of their needs. We all need to open new horizons together and put it on purpose.
