Friends! Recently, appeared a negative trend – when it is a holiday in Israel, UNESCO takes into consideration anti-Israeli resolutions. The last time this happened during the Sukkot holiday, this time - on Israel Independence Day.

Toward the close of the festive day the agency of the UN based on Education, Science and Culture decided to vote for the document, which rejects Israel's sovereignty over East Jerusalem and Gaza. UNESCO decided that it could deny the right of Jews of Jerusalem - the central symbol of the nation, its main shrine. Of course, this resolution cannot be called otherwise than absurd.

But I want to note the good side of the coin. Ukraine voted "against" this nonsense and once again confirmed that it is a friend of Israel in the international arena. For that I thank the representatives of the country in UNESCO. In addition to Ukraine, "against" anti-Israeli resolutions voted Germany, USA, Italy, UK, Holland, Lithuania, Greece, Paraguay and Togo. 23 countries abstained, another 22 - voted "for", including Russia.

Israel condemned the policy of the international organization and its constant attacks and anti-Israeli stance. Creating the new conflicts in the world, where their dominance and so frightening - is not what UNESCO should do.
