The action is set in October 1944, in the territory occupied by the German Nazis in Poland. The movie is about two days of a Jewish prisoner's life in Auschwitz Saul Auslander, who wants to do the impossible in the inhumane conditions of the concentration camp – to find a rabbi and bury his own son according to the Jewish traditions.
Last year, the picture has been honored with several prestigious awards. These include the "Golden Globe", "Cesar" award and the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival.
The film is rather intricate and ambiguous. But I would kindly advise you to watch it; to recall the terrible lesson that history has presented to mankind. The movie of Hungarian director teaches the viewer that, in any situation that could occur the main thing is to be a man, do not forget who you are and why are you here, remember of the higher values.
