 Every soldier in Israel is a long-term investment into the benefit of their own country. Since childhood, Israelis are said that we can rely on ourselves only – no one will fight for us. Moreover, nobody will pay, or thank for this. For many Israelis, Ukraine is not an unfamiliar country. So, when Ukraine suffered, certain Israelis responded to this trouble and came to help. And not just the Israelis. Now, there are lots of foreigners, who are fighting in the Ukrainian army: the Georgians, the Poles, the Belarusians, the Moldovans, the Russians, the Austrians... It was their choice to go to the war, expecting nothing in return neither from the Ukrainian authorities, nor from the Ukrainian citizens. But does such a person have a right to obtain a passport of the citizen of Ukraine? I am convinced that certainly he is to have this right. After all, he defends his native land, though officially it is not his yet. But mentally it definitely is! And if we are talking about a man, who has on his "account" almost a year of fighting in the ATO area? Under the Ukrainian flag, gentlemen! The only one signature of the President can give these people an opportunity to stay in Ukraine and to help the authorities to reform the Ukrainian army. True patriots are not born, they are brought up. The Ukrainian authorities give the passport due to the political position (a politician Maria Gaidar or a journalist Catherine Sergatsova). So the person, who is ready to die for Ukraine every day, much more deserves to get this little book with a blue and yellow emblem on it, does not he? Today the issue of capacity and provision of the Ukrainian army is one of the most critical and painful topic. Ukrainian situation is absolutely unique - the army of a country at war mostly provided by volunteers and benefactors. Recently one of the journalists asked Avigdor Lieberman a question of how Israeli experience can help Ukraine. He got excellent reply: "Ukraine has wrong start from the beginning. It is necessary to start not with the army, but with the economy."

I have already made a comparison in one of my posts as for the serving conditions of the Ukrainian and Israeli soldier, so I won’t go back to this. Today I want to talk about what happens after the military service is finished. The Law for demobilized soldiers of Israel provides the following benefits:

• Money gift after the demobilization - depends on the length of serving term

• Income tax payment exemptions (about 3 years)

• Personal account deposit

• Additional fund helping for education or for own business start (about 5000 USD)

• The soldier will receive lifetime compensation in the case of disability, pension, plus free treatment and special rehabilitation centers treatment.

• In case of a soldier’s death, his family will be provided with all necessary support - financial, psychological and moral.

Demobilized soldiers will get help and support in work search and arranging their further civilian life. And most important – all mentioned above is not just "declared somewhere." It lives and it works.

And what happens to a soldier who has returned from the ATO area?  Many months waiting for the penny wage. They have to haunting thresholds, standing in long queues in the attempt to get the status of a combatant. I don’t want even to describe the situation when they return wounded and crippled. It’s excellent if there are funds \ volunteers to help. If not - survive on your own. People, who fought in rags with grandfather's arms, were eating packed lunches by the fire, return home and get absolutely nothing from the government. No one needs them except their own families and volunteers. But it’s not enough volunteers for everyone.

Can you blame the men who try to avoid such army? Let’s drop off the lyrical pathos and look at things realistically - in my opinion, no. A government that doesn’t understand the value of a soldier’s life and can’t provide a decent life of its army – is not for a long time or shortly will provide a foreign army.

Today almost every newscast turns almost into thriller - killed, bombarded, destroyed, missing. From Friday to Saturday night, three Ukrainian paratroopers were gone on the Crimean border. If not killed, then captured. It is clear that we don’t know the whole truth about the situation.

That, what the Military forces of all countries face at the time of combat operations, is determined as «Top secret». The mystique depends on not only the strategic importance, but also the unpreparedness of wimps to receive it. According to the principle – the less you know, the better you sleep. Dry statistics, as the daily recital of injured, murdered, crippled and in captivity, can stroke even the strongest mentality. Especially when it concerns captives.

Of course, it exist The Geneva Convention concerned treatment of prisoners of war, which contains the ways of behaving with captives in a civilized manner, as far as the term «civilized» is applicable to the war and captivity. It is a philosophical question. And furthermore, all these rules exist not only on paper.

In practice, opponents tries to do their best to get the success, because a disarmed and trapped soldier is an ideal tool of blackmail and getting information.

For today, Ukraine has already faced the problem of captivity. It is impossible to comment the events happened in the territory of so-called DPR/LPR. People are tortured, they have no even water and food. They are made to parade as captives.

I would like to tell about events in Israel briefly.

The main principle is «our people are never forgotten and lost». Even dead bodies of Israeli soldiers must be returned to the native land. It is important to underline that soldiers in captivity are always tortured in spite of any Convention. Therefore a captive gave any information, the rest militaries must always have «other plan» and move. A captive must do all the best to save his life even giving a «Top secret» information. Because the worthiest thing in the world is his soldier’s life. Heroism followed by death is good only in Hollywood actions, not in a real life.

Israel - a State that does not enter into negotiations with the terrorists. But when in 2006, Palestinian militants entered Israel using the underground manhole, captured the tank soldier Gilad Shalit, the captive Israeli soldier has been exchanged for more than a thousand Palestinians. Obviously, this doesn’t happen every day, and the Israeli government understands clearly that every released terrorist will return armed. But the life of own soldier - is sacred.

Avoiding the army service in Israel is a real shame! A soldier there - is a liberty guardian, the guardian if State, the security throughout the country. The country must do all possible for him. How to watch into people’s eyes who rely on the State, and instead they hear only "I'm sorry, we did all we could"?

I consider that learning of Israeli experience of saving prisoners of war has great importance for Ukraine. The reaction must be immediate. Our children, grandchildren and future generations need Peace. I am sure they cannot forgive us if we will not prevent possible losses.

If we want to live in peace, we need to develop a security system. For example, Israeli experts and scientists always search for the most effective new ways to provide peace and confidence for people.

Ben Gurion Airport is considered to be one of the safest airports in the world. It is protected by the police, private security companies in uniform and in civilian clothes. In this airport an unprecedented attack warning system was implemented. In other words, it is a system of procedures that will help to identify potentially dangerous individuals and situations. In Israel it is called profiling. For the guests of the state a meeting with the security service is a vivid impression, as far as Israelis got already used to Israeli style profiling. Questioning, baggage inspection often feels like a slap in a face, but the price of the question is human lives.

Can we allow ourselves to be careless in the scope of security today? No. Collaboration and advanced technologies help us. The Roman proverb says "Nothing is impossible". For example, the specialists of Israeli company X-Test, a member of The Tamar Group, use mice to search for explosives at checkpoints of Ben Gurion Airport. Rodents not only perfectly distinguish smells, but also feel the excitement of a man carrying potentially dangerous cargo; and this information is transmitted with the help of biological sensors. They even transcend dogs and artificial systems. However, one of the largest passenger transporters, the Israeli airline company «El Al», equipped their aircraft with anti missile system called Flight Guard, to protect them from attacks of hunting surface-to-air missiles.

The characteristic feature of the Israeli security system is a method due to which criminals can be detected in a crowd, it is based on the analysis of the most informative external signs and the behavior. I believe that Ukraine should adopt Israeli experience. Criminals must face a resolute rebuff.

Good afternoon everybody,

I would like to go back to the event happened on the 31^st of August because of the heated debates around the photos of a person who is supposed to be guilty in this terror attack.

On different TV channels and in various News programs experts of all kinds are analyzing this situation. Nevertheless, no one answered the following question: in what way a man, dressed in camouflage, with the mask on his face, in a hat and with a huge backpack, drew no attention to his person on this peaceful demonstration? Taking into consideration that this demonstration took place not in Troieschyna district but in front of the building of The Supreme Council of Ukraine. And the demonstration had been already pelted with smoke bombs. The antipersonnel mine in the center of the capital within sight of a hundred of law enforcement officers is a slap to the Security Service.

So, where will be the next explosion? In the tube? In the supermarket? Due to such connivances common people are losing their lives and health. There are military operations in the country and many civilians have an access to weapons, furthermore some soldiers come back home bringing such «trophies». To dismiss it – means to be incompetent and unreasonable.

In Israel even the lost package immediately draws attention of the Security Service (watch this video). Ьost often it is a false call but there can be one real bomb among a hundred of jokes. The whole world knows about «nerdy and meticulous» Israeli border guards. Inspections at the entrance to the supermarket or to the mall are the shock for tourists, but it is the price of civilians’ security. It took Israel many years to get it.

Ukraine does not have so much time. The authorities have to think about it now; they have to initiate measures, moreover, they have a good example to adopt the best practices.

Today each Ukrainian citizen somehow collides with the consequences and the results of the information war with its eastern neighbor. The different views on the same conflict has provoked quarrels in many families. People got used to almost blind trust to the information from the media. There are not so many people who are  ready to analyze the facts and separate the truth from propaganda.

Thousands of aggressive and false messages "storm" information field every day. Chasing the  cheap legends the information war machine does not get tired to generate crucified babies and eaten bullfinches. However in DNR and LNR persistently lacks its own events and heroes. Not taking into account the transparency of media field of the 21st century the photos of Australian flood victims are used, killed Chechen rebels, pictures which were taken many years ago. The authors of these "posts" seems to believe that access to the global web exists only for them.

One more example of such "qualitative" journalism - photos of Beersheba resident, who saves a child during the Israeli shelling in July 2014. That's just not clear how he became a "hero of Donetsk."

I think that the hero of this story couldn’t even imagine that he will become a Donetsk “hero” in a year.

Good autumn morning to everybody! Today is a very good and bright holiday, the day when all kindergartens and schools, colleges and universities re-open their doors after the summer holidays. Hundreds of children and teenagers, well-dressed and with bouquets in their hands, were hurrying up to hear this year’s First Bell. Touching and cute first graders are proudly striding next to Mom and Dad because now they are "very adult". Students are timidly coming to the door of their Alma Mater for the first time. Today they will start the next school year, a wonderful time when success and failure are measured by marks only. I wish all those who start studying today to have self-belief and understanding that knowledge is the most solid foundation for your success in life! I want to congratulate parents and teachers and wish them wisdom and patience. Congratulations on the Day of Knowledge!
