Friends!
Today its 30th birthday celebrates the famous Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk!
Interesting fact: Ukrainian athlete was born on the same day with the most famous boxer in history - Muhammad Ali.
Oleksandr Usyk was born in Simferopol, his parents are originally from Chernihiv and Sumy regions. As a child, he played football, but preferred boxing, and has been playing it for 15 years. He graduated from Lviv State University of Physical Culture.
At the Olympic Games in London, Alexander won the gold medal, win in a fight with an Italian boxer Clemente Russo. Viewers then loved his image - Usyk always looks in the ring like a true Cossack, and after the match in London, he even danced hopak.
In just a few years Alexander managed to climb the boxing Olympus. This he was the best of the best - won WBO in the match with Krzysztof Glovatsky, and then successfully defended it in a duel with Tobise Mchunu.
In addition, Alexander Usyk set the historical record and surpassed the achievements of the legendary American boxer Evander Holyfield. He became world champion in the first heavyweight record of 10 fights.
In a week Usyk can be seen in cinemas, because on the screens will be shown the first Ukrainian sports drama "The rule of battle" where he will play himself.
I congratulate Alexander on his birthday, wish him new sports achievements, that are bringing joy to Ukrainians, though Ukrainian anthem is triumphantly heard in the world!
