Friends!

Friends! 86 years ago, was born Evgenia Miroshnichenko. She was the last known Ukrainian opera diva. She made many efforts for the establishment of Kyivan small opera to help young musicians to develop their talent. But could not see the implementation of her bold plan.

Eugenia was born on the 12th of June, 1931 in the village in Kharkiv region. Love the song she took from the mother. Her father died in the war in 1943. The girl, halfly orphan, was sent to Kharkov vocational school. There she showed her character for a first time as a wayward, little hooligan. While studying Eugene started dancing, but continued to love songs. Once she was on duty at the school and sang the song when the head of the choir saw her. He persuaded the girl to come to the band "Labor Reserves". Just a few months after that Miroshnichenko became its talented soloist.

In 1950, when Eugenia with the ensemble performed in Kiev, she was heard be the director of conservatory Alexander Klimov. He invited the girl to come to sing to the university. Teachers liked girl’s voice so she was invited to study, despite the fact that she did not even have a certificate of secondary education. Talented Eugenia studied in the class of another famous opera singer – Mary Donets-Tesseer.

But the girl's character gave signs - several times she even wanted to drop out studying! But teachers persuaded her to return. At first she did not appreciate her voice. However fruitful work gave the results and at the 4th year of studying Evgenia Miroshnichenko was invited to sing in the Kiev opera. In 1957, she became its soloist. Debut opera singer was "La Traviata." Then she performed the leading roles in the operas "The Barber of Seville," "The Golden Cockerel", "The Magic Flute", "Aeneid."

In 1961, the talented singer trained at the Milan theater "La Scala". But never thought about leaving her homeland. She ignored the invitation to move to Moscow, always joked, "It is difficult to me to move from one street oto opposite one, and you say to change the country." Even great love to Romanian singer Nicholas Hurley did not push her to leave her principles.

Eugenia Miroshnichenko was a talented lecturer – in 1980 she taught students at the Kiev Conservatory, in 1990 - at the National Music Academy named after Tchaikovsky. She brought a galaxy of worthy students, including Michael Didyk, Valentine Steppe, Susanna Chakhoyan, Olga Pasichnyk.

The last years of her life Eugenia spent on fighting. With the disease and the then government, which did not want to help contribute with the opening of the Kiev small opera.

Eugenia Miroshnichenko died on the 27th of April , 2009. In memory of all those who loved and admired her work, this gorgeous woman remained strong, talented and unmatched.
