Friends!



Friends! Today celebrates his 75th anniversary Edward Kirych - Ukrainian artist of animated films. I have already told you about Vladimir Dakhno, who was director of the animated series "How the Cossacks ..". Today we will focus on Edward, who created the Ukrainian favorite cartoon characters - Cossacks Oko, Hray and Tour as we know them. Also, he was the one of the first, who painted Ukrainian flag in a cartoon ( "Aeneid" 1991).

Edward Kirych was born on the second of June, 1942 in Omsk. But he spent his childhood in Lviv. He lived in the Jewish ghetto, which after the war was multinational. Kirych admitted that it's affected his development. And remembered the childhood story when he among other boys went to to play to Yaniv cemetery, because there kids could found toys there. And only then, have grown up, Edward learned that these toys were from shot Jewish children. This memory settled in his memory for a lifetime.

Edward Kirych started to draw from childhood, first caricatures of the teacher in the classroom, then - more serious pictures. In 1961 he graduated from Republican Art School named. Shevchenko (the painting class), and in 1970 - Ukrainian Fedorov Printing Institute, and became a certified books artist, graphics and illustrator.

Kirych first cartoon was "Why rooster short pants?", Released in 1966. At its core was Jewish tale, but the author maid it in Hutsul style.

In 1968 Kirych began to work on his second animated film - "The man who knew how to fly." During his work he met Vladimir Dakhno, with whom he later created the "Cossacks." Multiplier told what was then a special charm and atmosphere to create cartoons - all learned from experience and take an example from Disney cartoons - a "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" they watched dozens of times!

In 1972, Edward Kirych was the art director on the animated film studio "Kievnauchfilm." The Oko. Hrayand Tour he created from little circle, stick and large circle - so they were dreamed by Dakhno. For this character Edward Kirych, Vladimir Dakhno and Anatoly Gavrilov received the Taras Shevchenko State Prize of Ukraine.

Friends! Edward Kirych is a great artist and animator who gave us great cartoons that we enjoy to review again and again. I congratulate him on his birthday, I wish him long life, good health, family harmony and warmth!
