Friends!
Friends! Today Ukraine celebrates Constitution Day!
On this day in 1996, the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Constitution of Ukraine. They prepared it six years, and for the adoption of the main document of the country, people's elected representatives worked for 23 hours in a row. 315 votes "FOR" and a cry of the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Moroz: "There is a Constitution!" - this way we remember this event. Even then, the international community highly appreciated and endorsed the Constitution of Ukraine, called it one of the most democratic in the world.
The adoption of the Constitution consolidated the legal foundations of independent Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity, became an important step in ensuring human rights and citizen, and contributed to further enhancing the international authority of Ukraine on the world stage.
Thus, in the preamble of the document it is noted that the Rada adopted the Constitution expressing the sovereign will of the people, building on the centuries-long history of Ukrainian state building and the right of self-determination made by the Ukrainian nation to all Ukrainian people, ensuring the rights and freedoms of man and decent living conditions, Caring for the strengthening of civil consent on the land of Ukraine, striving to develop and strengthen a democratic, social and legal state.
Unfortunately, now Ukraine is experiencing difficult times when the enemy struck the territorial integrity of the state, occupied a significant part of the Ukrainian land. But it has become a powerful impetus for the Ukrainian nation to rally and once again feel itself as one. "Fight - you will win, God helps you!"
