Friends! On this day the famous Ukrainian actor Konstantin Stepankov was born. He played more than hundred movie roles, was one of the main faces of Ukrainian cinema era. He played in such wonderful films as "Stone Cross", "Babylon XX", "Zakhar Berkut", "Legend of Princess Olga" and others.

He was born on June 3, 1928 in Pechesky village, Khmelnitsky region. Actor’s father Peter Voloshchuk was a priest. In 1939 he was arrested and there was no letters received afterwards - probably he died in Gulag camps.

Constantine had to change the name - so he became Stepankov instead of a Voloshchuk, from hos mother's maiden name - Stepanko.

Konstantin finished school in Uman, and decided to join the faculty associated with food, like most of his peers - were so hungry times. Stepankov became a student of the fruits and vegetable faculty in Uman Agricultural Institute. More than this - he externally passed the exam for the first two courses. During the studying Stepankov conducted the "kultmasovyy sector". He organized a meeting of the famous people who came to Uman, for students and teachers. During one of these meetings a talented young man noticed and invited to join the Theater of Institute Ambrose Buchma, at that time, actor and director of the Kiev Theater. Konstantin accepted the proposal over it - supported him in Uman Institute. The director even gave 200 rubles to join. And it turned out - Stepankov passed the exams and became to learn on the course Buchmy Ambrose.

Immediately after graduation, Konstantin started teaching. He did not abandon this work for over 30 years. While teaching he met the love of his life - a young student Ada Rogovtseva. According to the student advances Stepankov removed from work, but it did not affect their relationship. After Rogovtseva graduated, they got married. And yet their love - true example of pure love.

Since 1955 Stepankov played in the Ivan Franko Theater, but there's no hurry to give way to young. The success of the actor came in 1968, when Konstantin played in the film "Stone Cross". Then it immediately invited to work at the studio Dovzhenko and he agreed.

Then there were hundreds of high-profile roles. To act he stopped only a few years before his death. Dreamed play golden wedding of his beloved wife. But he died in July 22, 2004 of pancreatic cancer.
