Let me tell you about one incident which occurred recently in Daburiya. Father and son went to the supermarket where they were attacked by the young 24-year-old boy. He pointed a gun on them and started to threaten. But men were not afraid of attacking, they first got their guns and opened fire. Offender-loser that has previously been brought to criminal responsibility, was taken to hospital. Police questioned the father and son and just let them go, when they realized that the shooting was self-defense.

I am sure that this situation successfully depicts why people need the right to free possession of weapons and how to use it. And describes the mechanism of action of the police, which quickly established the fact whether the person abused self-defense or not. And they can let the right people to go home just a few hours after the incident, not after months of investigation. Unfortunately, today in Ukraine dominates complicated criminogenic situation, when only people can guarantee their safety. Of course, the right to have arms can only be given to people, who are willing to take responsibility for their actions. In Israel, for example, firearms may be purchased by those who have turned 27 years old, or those who served in the army. In addition, at home person can save only 50 rounds.

According to statistics, the number of deaths due to the use of firearms in the country reaches number of 150 people per year, despite the fact that half a million Israelis actually have it.

The debate on whether to legalize weapons in Ukraine or not, has waged for several years. Especially important was the issue after the Revolution of dignity. In my view, the right of self-defense is an essential need for every Ukrainian. It only needs the establishment of a good mechanism for its implementation. Then it can proceed the right side between Ukrainian willingness to acquire weapons and their ability to apply it.
