I know Istanbul for fragrant coffee, old bazaar, Hagia Sophia, friendly and cheerful people.

Today Istanbul is in mourning: at night a bloody terrorist attack took place, the victims of which, according to preliminary data, were estimated 50 people, more than 150 are injured. Among the victims there is Ukrainian Larysa Tsepakova, born in 1960.

I express my deep condolences to Mrs. Larysa’s relatives, families and friends of the killed and all the Turkish people! This is a terrible tragedy that cannot be forgiven.

I am sure that now stones will fly from both sides, everyone will blame each other, recall when and who sympathized whom or did not do that, who promised something to someone. But I just encourage supporting the Turkish people in their grief. The most important thing is not to be afraid, not to bow, not to become a victim.

Unfortunately, Israel is familiar with terrorism. Since the latest wave of terrorism that has covered Israel since autumn 2015, in the country there have been almost 300 terrorist attacks, victims of which became nearly 40 people, they were cut, hit by cars, shot or blown up. Every day Israelis are in the area of terrorist threats. Therefore, the army, police, security services and all the citizens themselves are ready to respond to attackers at any moment. This is a necessary condition for their own safety, not a whim. It is important to realize that terrorism is not something that is “somewhere far away”, it is a real threat and we should not be afraid, we should be alert, know exactly how to behave in the case of danger. This will help to save lives.

And again I express my sincere condolences to the citizens of Turkey.
