Today I would like to talk to you about the nature of conflicts occurring in the world.

Since the first moment of its existence, Israel has been in conflict with the Arab-Muslim world. It is a mistake to think that the essence of the conflict is the struggle for territory. Everything is much more complicated and deeper. The Arab-Israeli conflict is the conflict of ideology and morality.

Israel is a modern democratic state in which human rights are paramount, in Israeli society the citizens and human values are appreciated and respected. However, not all of Israel's neighbors share this ideology.

Since Israel has existed as a state not so long ago, it is compared to the “older” neighbors. And there is a very subtle nuance here. The Muslim world is extremely heterogeneous. Qatar, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates are traditionally Muslim countries, but they are developing in a progressive way, the countries that have accepted and are protecting human rights. Now the whole world admires beautiful oriental princesses - Sheikha Mozah or Queen Rania - and that’s for a good reason. But what should be done with, for example, Iran, Syria or Lebanon? In the 40s, when Israel emerged, the level of economic development and civilizational component was even higher in these countries. But these countries have taken the path of fanaticism and degradation. And what do we see today? Today in Iran they arrange public punishment and flog children because girls and boys had their prom in the same room... Note, they did not organize an orgy, did not swim together in the pool, and did not protest against anything, they just were in the same room. For this they were interrogated and punished with 99 strokes. This happens in the 21st century. Given that in the early 50s, Iran was almost a secular state. But the leaders who had come to power learned that it would be much easier to govern huddled and illiterate people. Does not it ring a bell?

Yes, Israel wants to have nothing in common with these examples of “moral fiber” and tries to protect and defend itself from such “civilized” neighbors in every way.

Unfortunately, today not all politicians and public personalities may correspond to the status of “civilized”. Defying all norms and principles of democracy and international law, these people continue to profess the cult of force and lynch law. The horror of the situation is that when these people have the power, then wars start. Wars because of skin color, religion or territorial boundaries, under the slogans “To Throw Israel into the Sea” or “Crimea Is Ours”.

I really want to believe that in this fight of fanatical aggression and common sense, common sense will win after all. It is intolerable to see how in the 21st century women are stoned, and children are subjected to public flogging and the only thing international organizations can do is “strongly condemn”.
