Today is the International Mother Language Day. It was introduced by UNESCO to exalt the diversity of languages ​​and their crucial role in the development of nations.

Language is us. I told you earlier about Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, who is highly revered by Israelites as a "father of modern Hebrew," because he revived the language that unites people. "Find common ground" - is not only a figurative idiom that means to negotiate. This is the main thrust of the countries which did not have the language or for those where it was not used because of different reasons for decades.

Let me give you a quote of remarkable Ukrainian writer Oxana Zabuzhko "Language - is not only a" mean of communication ", the transfer of “ready-made opinions, "as we all learned in the imperial school. It has a serious mission - to be the way of the birth of ideas. So, when there is "no language", people simply "cannot think". To think and live on Ukrainian is one of the main meanings which have use in the modern Ukrainian. It cannot be otherwise, when we experienced the Revolution of Dignity, continue to live in conditions of war in Donbas, when everything suggests Ukrainian people for unity – in the country with its own language. This does not mean that other languages should be suppressed. In Ukraine live over 130 national minorities, which speaks 79 native languages. We respect them and maintain. The main thing for everyone is to understand that the native language - is a treasure that was given for extremely high price, and we appreciate it and protect.

Ukrainian language is now at a new stage of development. More and more people speak it and are proud of that. Ukrainian translations of movies and book are among the best, more programs on television and radio is heard on Ukrainian. Trends that we see, once again prove that the Ukrainian language is modern, it is saturated with new colors. Also it changes those who speak and think on it.
